Walton Park, which is now a district and civil parish in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, was originally a hamlet. It is part of the Danesborough and Walton electoral ward for local government purposes. Located about four miles south of Central Milton Keynes and just east of Simpson, the historic hamlet mostly runs along Walton Road in the modern Walnut Tree district. The Manor Farm, which has since been redeveloped, was separated from the hamlet by the modern V10 Brickhill Street. The village name is of Old English origin, and it either means ‘village of the Britons’ or ‘walled village’. The manor house of the village, Walton Hall, along with its chapel of ease, which is now deconsecrated, are located on the campus grounds of The Open University in the Walton Hall district.
