Caldecote is a tiny hamlet located in the civil parish of Moulsoe in the City of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England. The place name comes from Old English and means “cold cottage,” which was originally used to refer to a resting place for travellers or other strangers on the road. The hamlet is situated close to the original Northampton to London road, which is now the B526.
Caldecote has a long history and was recorded in the Domesday Book as Caldecote. The hamlet is also known for its association with the nearby ancient village adjacent to Bedgrove, which once used the same place name.
Today, Caldecote is a peaceful and rural area, surrounded by fields and farmland. There are few amenities in the hamlet itself, although the nearby village of Moulsoe offers a range of services and facilities. The area is popular with walkers and cyclists, who enjoy exploring the local countryside and taking in the tranquil surroundings.
